On May 31, 2023, some of your clients’ employees on Medicaid could lose access to their health plan. The Medicaid redetermination, or renewal process has resumed after it was paused during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.
The Maine Office of Health Insurance Management will host a webinar at 1 p.m. this Thursday, April 27, to share information about when and how consumers can enroll on CoverME.gov after losing access to Medicaid (MaineCare) coverage during the redetermination process. It will also include an overview of the Special Enrollment Period being offered on CoverME.gov for consumers losing MaineCare coverage. You can register now for the webinar.
In the coming weeks, your clients’ employees may begin asking about moving to their organization’s health plan or looking for help finding coverage through the Marketplace. When redetermination is complete, 18 million Americans will no longer qualify for Medicaid and will need to find new coverage.
