Optum and St. Joseph Providence Health will terminate their health maintenance organization (HMO) agreements with Anthem Blue Cross effective January 1, 2024. As a result, Optum and Providence Health will no longer be part of the Anthem Blue Cross Commercial Pathway HMO Exchange Network starting January 1, 2024. This only affects Anthem’s Individual ACA business.
Members who are currently enrolled with the Optum and Providence Health medical groups listed below will be transferred to participating medical groups. On November 2, 2023, we sent them letters to let them know this is happening.
The following medical groups are leaving Anthem’s Pathway HMO Exchange Network:
Optum
Providence Health
After members renew with Anthem for 2024, we’ll send them new ID cards listing their new medical groups. Members should familiarize themselves with their new medical group, because it will include different hospitals and specialists than the Optum and Providence Health medical groups. Members can also use the Find Care feature on the Sydney℠ Health app or anthem.com/ca to see the providers available to them.
Please reach out to your Anthem sales representative if you have questions.
